What is Youth Musicians Academy?

Youth Musicians Academy is a student-driven initiative designed to connect the next generation of young musicians to the strongest high school talent in the state!
This year, Youth Musicians Academy is more than excited to announce their first annual Youth Musicians Accelerated Program, a two week, highly intensive and fun summer program for rising 3rd to rising 8th graders of all musical levels, from beginner to advanced, to learn and master an instrument of their choosing through private lessons and in ensemble settings with other students!
The summer program will be held from June 30 - July 11 from Monday-Friday, 1 P.M. - 4 P.M.
*The program will be run on July 4 with optional attendance

Meet your teachers!

As a student-run initiative, Youth Musicians Academy ensures to bring only the best high school musicians in the state, all of whom have extraordinary musical accolades and accomplishments to prove their musical talent. For example, every one of our teachers has gained admittance into the NJSMA Region music ensembles(region level and state level bands), regarding them as some of the best musicians in the region and in the state! Additionally, teachers are part of the coveted LHS Wind Symphony and Lancer Jazz Bands for the Livingston High School, solidifying themselves as some of the best musicians and teachers in New Jersey!

Charles Budzinski

Played guitar and bass for over 5 years + piano for over a decade
Accepted into Region Jazz Band for the past two years + Livingston's Lancer Jazz Band
Was invited to play at the Summerfest alongside icons like SZA, Lady Gaga, Maroon 5, and other top artists around the globe

Jacob Julius

Played drums and guitar over 7 years
Admitted into LHS Wind Symphony and Lancer Jazz Band
Gained acceptance into NJ Region Senior Jazz Band, making him a contender for top drummer in the state!

Connor Li

Played piano for over a decade + all brass instruments for over 5 years
Earned a top spot in Region Jazz Band as a freshmen + First chair trumpet in Lancer Jazz Band
Due to his Region Jazz Band accolade, he is seen as one of the best trumpet players in the region

Ryan Chen

Played piano since the age of 6 and has expanded his musical capabilities to clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone
Accepted into Region Jazz Band as First Chair tenor saxophone!
Involved in top LHS Lancer Jazz Band for tenor saxophone + LHS Wind Symphony for clarinet

Yug Shah

Drumset and percussion for over 5 years and piano for 7 years
Admitted into LHS Wind Symphony and Lancer Jazz Band
Accepted into the Intermediate Concert Region Band for percussion

Zachary Lee

Percussion and drumset for over 4 years and piano for nearly 10 years
Admitted into LHS Wind Symphony and Lancer Jazz Band
Awarded first chair percussion in the region for Region Concert Band(2024)
